The Instant Pot Company of Ontario, Canada specializes in making digital electronic cookware products. They are currently into their third generation of product design and their product designs are aimed at meeting the needs of the urban lifestyle that’s health conscious and eco-friendly.
Their products are proving to be globally popular as more people turn to programmable cookware to help keep their diets healthy in an ever increasing fast-paced world.
The Instant Pot IP-LUX60 6-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker puts being green and being healthy back at the center of your lifestyle.
With its unique programmable features, pre-sets, delayed starts, and automatic safety controls, you can set this cooker up and leave it unattended without worry. This is a mid-priced programmable pressure cooker with an MSRP of $219 USD.
However, it is currently listed on Amazon for the low price of $130 USD. The 6 in 1 features allow it to be a workhorse in your kitchen, so spending the money to get a quality product makes more economic sense.
You are not just buying a pressure cooker—you are getting a rice maker, browner, warmer, steamer, slow cooker and pressure cooker all in one. Many of the other features that come with this top rated pressure cooker make it worthy of consideration for your kitchen and lifestyle.
The Instant Pot IP-LUX60 measures 12.6 by 11.8 by 10.2 inches and has an empty weight of slightly over 14.3 pounds. It is designed to work from your kitchen counter top and the electrical components meet or exceed global standards. This programmable pressure cooker is UL and ULC certified as safe and energy efficient.
The microprocessor control has a large soft key button layout and an easy to read LED display. There are 10 built in Smart programs, an automatic warmer setting, delayed cooking time up to 24 hours and a manual timer setting that can go up to 120 minutes.
There are also three different temperature ranges that correspond to the three different pressure ranges as well. The interior cook pot is made of stainless steel and has a 3-ply bottom for even heat distribution. The cooking pot is removable and can be hand-washed or cleaned in the dishwasher.
Each of these Instant Pot pressure cookers come complete with a stainless steel steam rack, rice paddle, soup spoon, measuring cup, manual, beginner’s cookbook for pressure cooking, and a cooking time chart that includes adjustments for geographic location and altitude.
What’s To Love About The Instant Pot IP-LUX60 6-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker?
The Instant Pot IP-LUX60 is arguably the best electric pressure cooker compared to its competition in this price range for one simple reason—they didn’t drop the ball when it came time to putting a removable cooking pot inside the pressure cooker.
Many of the other companies ruin great electric pressure cookers by putting an aluminum pot in a stainless steel cooker. However, this Instant Pot pressure cooker is all steel. The inner pot and even the included steaming tray/trivet is stainless steel as well.
Not only can you not beat stainless steel for even heat distribution, but it is far more durable and scratch resistant than aluminum. Stainless steel will also not warp under pressure like many of the thinner aluminum insert pots will.
Another bonus to this pressure cooker is that the digital controller is well thought-out and laid-out. Many of the other pots in the price range give you 4 tiny buttons and a bewildering range of combinations you are supposed to press to get the pressure cooker to do what you want it to do.
The Instant Pot IP-LUX60 has a larger menu selection and easy to read display. It does take some reading and memorizing to get all your choices and options down, but it’s worth it.
What’s most impressive about this pressure cooker is that many of these features are far better than the ones included in the electric pressure cookers that sell for hundreds of dollars more.
What’s Not That Great?
There is little bad to say about this pressure cooker. The 6.33 quart may wind up being too small for you and your family once you get used to how easy it is to use the pressure cooker. You may want to consider buying a larger quart size. If you only plan on using it for side dishes and smaller amounts, then stick with this model size.
The biggest complaint that pressure cooker reviewers have about this cooker has nothing to do with the cooker itself or how it works. It has to do with the documentation included with it.
The manual and instructions are well intentioned at best, but poorly written and hard to follow. The Instant Pot website, however, has copious brilliant videos, articles, and downloadable PDFs that explain everything you would need to know about how to use the pressure cooker.
This may mean a little extra work for you, going on the website to learn how to use the pressure cooker; however, we think it’s well worth it.
Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Review – Should You Buy It?

Things that may not have worked well in other model versions of this pressure cooker works just fine now. It you want to give someone this pressure cooker, the way to make it a perfect gift would be to download some of the online instructions so they can just skip the included instructions and get right to using it.
